Professor Zhao Boguan from Nanjing Forest University has been entitled prominent research award at the international seminar of " Pine wilt threat on world forest ecology" which held in Lisbon, Portugal on July 10-14.
Pine wilt disease is a fatal disease of pine tree; it was call pine tree cancer. Base hard work on investigation and experiment in the pine wilt disease hit area, professor Zhao has found that pine wilt disease was complex infected by pinewood nematode and disease-causing bacteria which it bring, the pinewood nematode has an mutualism with the disease-causing bacteria. The research gives a new way to grope for the pathogenesis of pine wilt disease and new pine wilt disease control.
