2011-2015 China adhesives market capacity analysis

In the past three years, impacted by world financial crisis,  annual output growth rate slowed down 13.54% in 2008; output growth rate moved up to 150.6% in 2009 due to the economy recovery, in 2010, adhesive industry kept its relative high growth rate, output and sale volume increased by 14.27% and 12.17% compare to 2009.

According to industry development situation of adhesive in recent three years, because of the financial crisis, growth of adhesives production had with an increase rate of 13.54% in 2008.

In recent years, China adhesives industry continues to grow with a high speed, the production volume had increased to 4,628 thousand tons in 2010 from 1,705 thousand tons of 2002, and sales had increased to RMB 59 billion from RMB16.3 billion in the same period. According to industry development situation of adhesive in recent three years, because of the financial crisis, growth of adhesives production had slowed down with an increase rate of 13.54% in 2008. While economic environment got improvement in 2009, the production went up by 15.06% and the sales increased 15.35% compared with 2008. And the whole adhesives industry maintain a fast development speed in 2010, production and sales went up by 14.27% and 12.17% compared with 2009.

According to CNAIA, it is considered that production and sales of adhesive sealants will continue to increase in 2011-2015 with an annual average growth rate of 10% and 12%, the production volume of adhesive sealants can reach to 7,170 thousand tons and the sales will reach to RMB103.8 million in 2015.

Structural adhesive is a high value-added product in adhesives, its technical content, producing and service conditions are all higher than ordinary adhesives. At the moment, nearly half of structural adhesives in China are produced by foreign adhesive companies. In 2010, structural adhesives production only took up 7.29% of total adhesives volume in China, while its sales took up a number of 16.84%.

Production of structural adhesives in China was 329.6 thousand tons in 2010 and the sales was RMB 9,723 million , they had increased 18.56% and 20.60% compared with 2009. According to CNAIA, production and sales of China structural adhesives will reach to 730 thousand tons and RMB 23,000 million until 2015, annual average increasing 17.23% and 18.79%.

The structural adhesives products mainly including epoxy resin adhesive, organic silicon and polyurethane adhesive, their production volume in 2010 were 111.5 thousand tons, 128.3 thousand tons, and 59.2 thousand tons, taking up 33.83%, 38.93% and 17.96% in structural adhesives market.
