ATLANTA, GA. April 02, 2007 -- Georgia-Pacific LLC today announced that Georgia-Pacific Wood Products South LLC has completed the purchase of five wood products sites from International Paper. Announced last December, the acquisition totaled approximately $237 million, including working capital.

“These are value-added facilities that fit strategically with our current wood products operations and we’re very excited to have them in the Georgia-Pacific family,” said Mike Rehwinkel, president of Georgia-Pacific’s wood products business. “We’re growing, and these facilities allow us to expand our geographic footprint into the important Southwest/Midwest area, further enhancing our ability to serve key customers in valuable sectors of our business. These are cost-competitive, solid operations. ”

The new Georgia-Pacific sites are plywood and lumber complexes at Camden, Texas, Springhill, La., and Gurdon, Ark., a plywood mill at Corrigan, Texas, and an engineered lumber plant at Thorsby, Ala. Georgia-Pacific will gain an additional 2,400 employees from these facilities.
