IIMAK, a leading manufacturer of printing and marking consumables, announced the acquisition of Specialty Ink Company’s business, effective July 1, 2013. This includes all formulas, brands, processes, and assets from Specialty Ink Company to produce inks, stamp pads, and related items with the exception of Mark II stamp pads.
Gary Werwa, former owner of Specialty Ink, along with Keith Werwa, former general manager, have joined IIMAK to support the business transition.
“For over a year IIMAK has partnered with Specialty Ink to manufacture their inks, so we are familiar with their products,” stated Scott Surma, IIMAK vice president of sales and marketing North America. “We are pleased to retain the Aero and Classic brands, which are well known in the packaging and marking device industries, and also complement IIMAK’s existing portfolio and channels for industrial inks.”
Gary Werwa enacted a business succession plan to take a step closer to retirement while ensuring Specialty Ink customers will be supported for many years to come.
“Customers will be happy with the new ownership,” said Mr. Werwa. “IIMAK is global and very customer service oriented. They will continue to produce high quality products and enhance programs to make doing business easy.”
In addition to its thermal transfer ribbons, direct thermal films and industrial inkjet inks, IIMAK now manufactures a complete line of dye and pigmented inks for stamping and automatic coders. The wide range of water-, solvent- and resin-based industrial inks offers excellent durability and adhesion on porous and non-porous surfaces, including paper, corrugated, plastic, metal and rubber. Engineered features of these inks include various drying times, waterproofing and heat resistance.
