Lawter Announces Strategic Alliance with Sunpine

Lawter, a subsidiary of Harima Chemicals Group Inc., has entered into an agreement with the shareholders of Sunpine AB to build a Tall Oil Rosin production facility in Piteå, Sweden. Extracting this valuable renewable resource will satisfy a significant part of Lawter’s rosin demand in Europe. As part of the cooperation, Lawter will acquire a shareholder interest in Sunpine.
The new strategic alliance provides an attractive opportunity to better serve our customers in the European ink and adhesive markets. We are very impressed by the state of the art facility and professional organization of Sunpine in Piteå, Sweden and we look forward to a dynamic cooperation.
