Beardow Adams Inc. plans to bring 31 jobs and $5.1 million in investment to Charlotte as it opens its first U.S. adhesives facility.
The British hot-melt adhesives company also plans to grow in Charlotte, says Nick Beardow, sales and marketing director for Beardow Adams.
“This announcement is great news for our staff, great news for the local community and it is a superb platform for our continued future growth,” he says.
The company will receive a $37,500 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
Average annual wages for the Beardow Adams jobs are $52,984, plus benefits, which compares to Mecklenburg County’s average wage of $51,792.
The company plans to open next month in a 55,000-square-foot building at 3034 Horseshoe Lane, near the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, says Eileen Cai, vice president of economic development at the Charlotte Chamber.
The company makes adhesives that are used in the packaging, labeling, woodworking and bookbinding industries.
Headquartered in Milton Keynes, England, northwest of London, Beardow Adams was founded by Len Beardow and Bob Adams.
