BEIJING--China's Ministry of Commerce said Wednesday it will review antidumping measures on imports of chloroprene rubber from Japan after receiving complaints that Japan Electric Chemical Co. had flouted the measures.
Beijing's investigation will cover the period from Apr. 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012.
The commerce ministry first imposed duties ranging from 2%-151% on such imports from Japan, the U.S. and the European Union in May 2005 following an antidumping investigation. The ministry renewed the measures for five years on May 10, 2011.
Chloroprene rubber, also called neoprene, is an oil-and flame-resistant synthetic rubber widely used for wire and cable sheathing, conveyor belts and other industrial building materials.
