Mactac Printing Products has added to its durable film product line with FDD6919, a new resilient label optimized for laser and impact printing.
Suited to chemical drum labeling, the new FDD6919 is said to offer high strength, tear resistance, dimensional stability and temperature endurance. Available in a top-coated matte finish, it offers improved printability for laser and impact printing for a variety of durable label applications, including lawn and garden equipment, appliances, nameplates and more.
‘We are continuously developing enhanced durable film solutions to provide our customers with additional options for their toughest labeling challenges,’ said Kim Hensley, product manager, Mactac Printing Products. ‘We are pleased with the development of this new labelstock that allows us to help customers achieve superior printability while upholding stringent regulatory standards.’
FDD6919 is a 2-mil white polyester available with MP690 durable adhesives and a 3.4-mil C1S layflat liner. It has passed the British Maritime Standard BS 5609, a widely recognized specification for printed pressure-sensitive, adhesive-coated labels for marine use that requires the label withstand a three-month salt water submersion test.
MP690 is a durable, permanent acrylic emulsion with aggressive initial tack, excellent ultimate adhesion and mandrel hold. Extremely chemical and solvent resistant, it has very good adhesion to various high- and low-energy substrates, says the company.
