Momentive Specialty Chemicals To Raise Emulsion Polymer Prices For Adhesive, Textiles, Nonwovens, and Construction Markets in North America

COLUMBUS, Ohio – (April 27, 2011) – Effective May 15, 2011, or as contracts allow, Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc.’s North American Dispersions Business will increase its prices by six to eight cents per wet pound in the United States and Canada for all acrylic, styrene acrylic, vinyl acrylic and other polymers used in the adhesives, textiles, nonwovens and construction markets. This pricing action is driven by significant and sustained increases in raw material costs over the last several months, most notably for propylene, surfactants and acrylic monomers.
