During an opening ceremony on Dec. 2, 2009, the European warehouse for the Hangzhou (PR China) based Trust Chem Group was officially opened. From this 4,000 square meter Rotterdam hub, an extensive range of organic pigments will be supplied to the European market.
The Rotterdam warehouse will be operated by Forvision|Fritom, a full service logistic provider. Like Trust Chem, the Fritom group is a family-owned company, with customer service being the driving force of both companies.
Many customers, iincluding dispersion houses, asked Trust Chem to invest in a European supply, and this new facility enables their pigment needs to be met. From the new European warehouse, distribution quantities of organic pigments will be supplied especially, to the coatings and masterbatch industry as well as to the distributor network.
Transportation will be carried out by Fritom trucks. Fritom operates an established European distribution network, owning a fleet of more than1,000 trucks and 96,000 square meter warehouses. The trucks are equipped with an advanced GPS based track-and-trace system. ERP systems of both companies are linked through an EDI connection.
“We want to work with a logistic provider who has a vast knowledge of logistics, an extensive network and one whom shares the same customer philosophy as Trust Chem. When supplying dry powder pigments, working with own drivers and avoiding the hub and spoke model is important too,” commented Robert Paul Wielinga – managing director of Trust Chem Europe.
Despite the global economic situation, Trust Chem has faced a moderate growth of its activities in Europe. For 2010, further growth is predicted, also based on new product lines to be introduced.
Trust Chem Co Ltd., based in Hangzhou (PR China), is the leading independent manufacturer of organic pigments in China, with ownership of four manufacturing sites, an international R&D Centre and a state-of-the-art application lab in Hangzhou. Main applications are in inks, plastics, coatings and specialties. Trust Chem has a strong foothold in high-end applications and at multinational customers.
