AkzoNobel has won approval to supply coatings for the global redesign of all showrooms operated by Italian-based truck and commercial vehicle manufacturer Iveco.
The agreement – arranged by AkzoNobel Global Image Solutions (GIS) – involves the supply of a special effect powder coating which was developed specifically for Iveco. It will be used on the signage and exterior components of more than 2,000 showrooms.

GIS was established less than a year ago to provide a range of different coatings products from across the company’s portfolio. Approvals have already been received from customers such as Shell, Volvo and McDonald’s.

“This approval represents further success for a growing business which offers a convenient one stop shop to customers,” said Leif Darner, the AkzoNobel Board member responsible for Performance Coatings. “Our extensive know-how and global capability means that we can provide answers and solutions covering all aspects of innovative coatings technology.”

Added GIS Business Development Manager Angus Findlay: “By joining forces with AkzoNobel’s Powder Coatings and Car Refinishes businesses, we were able to present a range of potential solutions to Iveco’s requirements. Iveco’s brand implementation company, Cicrespi, also complimented us on the speed of response to developing the color, and for providing a solution to some potential application problems.”

Iveco designs, manufactures, and markets a broad range of light, medium and heavy commercial vehicles, off-road trucks, city and intercity buses and coaches, as well as special vehicles for applications such as fire fighting.
