PARSIPPANY, NJ, U.S.A. - October 27, 2008 - Sheetfed packaging, commercial and POP printers can now provide their customers with a new coating texture as a cost-effective product offering with Rycoline’s Diamond Coat® SOFT TOUCH™ coating, a new special effect coating that imparts a unique rubbery, leather-like feel with a matte appearance to printed and unprinted materials.

In addition to its one-of-a-kind physical properties, the SOFT TOUCH coating is applied in-line through the aqueous coating tower and does not require secondary or offline treatment as required if using a UV matte coating. This feature improves turnaround time, job costs, and lowers labor and handling costs. SOFT TOUCH is a zero VOC aqueous coating with a viscosity of 18-22 seconds.

“Our customers are looking for innovative solutions that also help to cut down on printing costs,” said Mark DeSandre, Vice President, Strategic Accounts, Rycoline Division, Sun Chemical. “The leather-like feel of this SOFT TOUCH coating not only expands what is currently out on the coatings market, it is a perfect example of innovations that Sun Chemical invests in to bring true value and cost savings to customers.”
