DÜSSELDORF, GERMANY- June 4, 2008 - Sun Chemical has today (4 June) at drupa officially launched three partnerships for its new Consulting division. ENVIRON, Radius Solutions and SBTI have all joined forces with the ink, pigment and services supply leader in an initiative that shares world-leading expertise to benefit customers.
The champagne launch ceremony has been held on the Sun Chemical stand (Hall 6, Stand 75). There were short speeches from Sun Chemical’s Felipe Mellado (vice-president group managing director) and Michel Vanhems (business leader, Consulting); Steve Green, business development manager, Europe, Radius Solutions; and Ian Bailey, head of Europe, ENVIRON.
Afterwards, there was a 30-minute presentation at the nearby PrintCity forum area on environmental services by Ian Bailey, ENVIRON’S president of European operations. Another presentation tomorrow at 12.30pm will be made by ENVIRON’S James Patterson on carbon footprint and energy efficiency; and on Friday at the same time (June 6) there will be one on compliance assistance, permitting and EMS from Heike Wenzel, principal EH&S Management.
Mr Mellado said: “This is an important step forward. Sun Chemical Consulting is dedicated to help printers and converters moving towards operational excellence. We are delighted to have announced at drupa these important partnerships, which is all part of our continuous commitment to working for the customer and demonstrating market leadership.”
Mr Vanhems said: “We will be providing productivity solutions, advice covering areas such as business improvements and laboratory work, as well as environment, health and safety issues. Combined with our worldwide expertise on the graphic arts industry, these Consulting partnerships will help printers and converters move away from the vicious circle of over-investment and commoditisation, as well as reducing the risk for relocations.”
