Eastman Supports China Disaster Relief Effort

KINGSPORT, TN (June 12, 2008)—Eastman Chemical Company is contributing more than $50,000 to assist the earthquake relief efforts in China.

The donation, made by the Eastman Foundation to the American Red Cross, is in addition to contributions by Eastman employees in Shanghai of more than $10,000.

The company made this statement on behalf of its employees:

"It has been heart-breaking to realize the devastation resulting from this tragedy. The need for emergency aid continues to be acute, and the many people directly affected by this disaster are in our thoughts and prayers." The Eastman Chemical Company Foundation is a private charitable foundation. Established in 1993 by Eastman, the Foundation is funded entirely by the company and is Eastman’s chief source of funding support to qualified non-profit charitable organizations.
