COLUMBUS, Ohio – (April 29, 2008) – Hexion Specialty Chemicals, Inc., the world’s leading producer of thermoset resins, today announced the introduction of its LED curable inkjet inks. These inks are designed to achieve a full cure with just a brief exposure to an LED curing unit with an output of 365 nm. These products will be demonstrated publicly for the first time in the Hexion booth, 642 at Radtech (May 4-7) in Chicago.

After a quick pass under the LED lamp the inks display excellent adhesion to a variety of graphic arts media, including vinyl, PVC, and polystyrene, with no compromise to the impressive color range that traditional UV curing inks enjoy. The new LED curable inks   are ideal for printing on temperature sensitive substrates and have the added benefit of saving energy, as the LED lamp requires less energy than traditional UV curing bulbs. Additionally, these lamps tend to have a longer lifetime than traditional bulbs.

“Hexion saw a real need for this product in the marketplace, and we spent the necessary R&D time to deliver a viable solution  for our customers,” says Paul Lindquist, New Business Development Manager for the Hexion UV Curable Group. “This technology will enable our customers to print on a more versatile palette of media while lowering their total energy consumption.”

At RadTech, Hexion will present its complete line of UV Curable products including:

• HexiJet ™ for robust graphic arts applications
• HexiLok™ for adhesion to multiple substrates
• HexiFlex™ for thermoformability and flexibility
• HexiStretch™ for both rigid and flexible substrates
