March 12, 2008, KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Eastman Chemical Company (NYSE: EMN) has been named one of the “100 Best Corporate Citizens” for 2008 by Corporate Responsibility Officer Magazine. Eastman ranks number 64 on the list, which is in its ninth year of publication.
Intel achieved top honors followed by Eaton Corp., Nike Inc., Deere & Co., Genentech Inc., Corning Inc., Humana Inc., Bank of America Corp., ITT Corp. and PG&E Corp.

This is the second time in recent months that CRO Magazine has recognized Eastman for its corporate citizenship. In October 2007, CRO listed Eastman as one of the five best corporate citizens among chemical companies in the U.S.
In compiling the 100 Best, CRO ranked the corporate responsibility efforts of large-cap companies from the Russell 1000 index in eight categories: climate change, employee relations, environment, financial, governance, human rights, lobbying and philanthropy.
