Dow Adhesives and Functional Polymers Makes Debut at the 32nd Annual PSTC Conference
PHILADELPHIA, May 06, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- DOW | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE:DOW) will introduce its newly formed Adhesives and Functional Polymers business to the pressure sensitive tape industry during the upcoming Pressure Sensitive Tape Council Conference scheduled for May 11th -15th in Orlando, Florida.

Another highlight will be the presentation of early-stage research into new acrylic materials. Dr. Sekhar Sundaram, senior scientist, will present recent development findings in a paper titled: Flexible Acrylic Foams, Carrier for Specialty Tapes and Beyond. "Our work with acrylic foam properties highlights the materials excellent mechanical properties, compression set and moisture vapor transmission rates," says Dr. Sundaram. "The ongoing developmental project will identify advanced materials based on acrylic technology to open up new market applications." Dr. Sundarams findings suggest potential performance properties from acrylics not currently available in other foam backing materials.
