Eastman Increases Adhesive Resins and Polymers Prices on September 1

KINGSPORT, Tenn., Aug. 13, 2008 - Eastman Chemical Company is increasing prices on the following products effective Sept. 1, 2008. These increases are due to elevated operating costs, particularly in raw materials, energy and freight.

Hydrocarbon Resins (Piccotac™ and Picco™): List and off-list price increase of $US 0.07/lb ($US 0.15/kg) globally.

Hydrogenated Resins (Eastotac™, Regalite™, Regalrez™): List price increase of $US 0.07/lb ($US 0.15/kg) globally.

Hydrogenated Resins (Eastotac™, Regalite™, Regalrez™): Off-list price increase of $US 0.07/lb ($US 0.15/kg, € 0.10/kg) globally.

Pure Monomer Resins (Kristalex™, Endex™, Piccotex™, Piccolastic™, Plastolyn™): List and off-list price increase of $US 0.07/lb ($US 0.15/kg) globally.

Polymer Raw Materials (Eastoflex™): List and off-list price increase of $US 0.08lb ($US 0.18/kg) globally.

CTO Based Rosins (Pamolyn™): List and off-list price increase of $US 0.07/lb ($US 0.15/kg) globally.

Rosins (Abalyn™, Abitol™, Cellolyn™, Eastman™ PLUS Resin, Foral™, Foralyn™, Lewisol™, Pentalyn™, Staybelite™, Dymerex™, Poly-Pale™, Eastman™ ester gums, Dresinate™, Permalyn™, Pexate™, Pexoil™, Uralquid™): List and off-list price increase of $US 0.07/lb ($US 0.15/kg) globally.
