The Pine Chemicals Association (PCA), in partnership with TAPPI, will present a three day Short Course on Soap & Turpentine Recovery and Tall Oil Processing in Atlanta, GA on March 10 to March 12, 2015. This course is the only one of its kind offered and is designed for operators, process engineers, pulp mill managers, recovery superintendents and technical superintendents engaged in pulp mill recovery operations. Subject matter includes:

Safety, storage and logistics for Soap, CTO & CST

Recovery economics for CST & Soap

Sampling, testing techniques and standards for Soap, CST & CST

How to improve soap recovery from weak liquor tanks and evaporator systems

CST recovery technology and how to improve efficiency of recovery systems in batch and continuous digester systems

Basics of CTO production in batch and continuous systems and yield improvement scenarios

This course is designed to review basic concepts, as well as new technologies for recovery, and how recovery can positively impact pulp mill operations. The content is fundamentally the same as last year, but we have improved the presentations with a plan to provide more interaction and “hands on” experiences and problem solving through small group breakout sessions, as this will aid the learning process.

In addition to the knowledgeable presenters that attended the 2014 program, we will also have speakers from Federal Railway Administration (FRA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Green Bay Packaging and RockTenn. Improved conference facilities will also allow for a microphone at each seat to truly get our audience to participate in the dialogue that is crucial for your company to improve operations.

The course is scheduled to start on Tuesday, March 10, at 1:00 pm. Wednesday will comprise a full day of course segments and the course will end on Thursday at noon. An informal reception will be hosted on Tuesday and Wednesday after General Session concludes.

The course sold out last year and is sure to do so again. We are limited in seating and the registrations are available on a first come-first serve basis. Please register your space now using this link. Hotel reservations can also be made at this time by reserving online here.

MOVE FAST to attend this one-of-a-kind educational opportunity within the industry. If you know of others within your organization that could benefit from this course, kindly forward this information to them.
